Season 6 Press Releases

Eugene_Goat

“Beavis Soft are excited to make a surprise announcement breaking their 31 year silence in the gaming industry to revitalise their 1994 DOS Classic, “Wacky Wheels” in the form of a sponsorship with promising up-and-coming sim-racer, Eugene_Goat. Eugene commented that “It was as much a surprise to me as everyone else that these guys were still going, but who can say no to a soundtrack like that!” Beavis Soft remarked that unless Eugene earns the golden TCX trophy this Season, it could spark another 31 year hibernation for the firm while they would need to recoup all their losses. In any case, best of luck to Eugene and Team Wacky Wheels!”

SMOLZIE

Outer Wilds Ventures have expanded to a new project. Flying around a track near you soon. Employing the talent of last seasons Nintendo Rover driver Smolzie, we are aiming to take the GT4 class by storm. A statement from the Smolzie: “I’ve been studying Monza all off season to remember what turn 2 looks like, i’ll be coming back strong” A statement from the head of Outer Wilds Ventures: “Smolzie has impressed us so far, we quizzed him the other day and he could remember atleast 3 of Monza’s turns. We are aiming high this season”

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, give him an imitation Pringles brand, and he is able to make a livery out of it.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to come up with dozens of tenuous fake brands related to the nationality of the manufacturer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the season – I don’t remember what season – he changed his car and so was faced with making a new livery, but did not do it. Question for you both: is making imitation brand liveries today too complicated with twenty and more brands on the body, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme of livery creation? Less brands, more? Or less and more communication with the skins section on overtake.gg?

MICHAEL

In this Sunday Times exclusive we sit down with Team Race Fastest at their car unveiling for the Inky500 Season 6. First, which car?

BMW M4 GT3

Why?

Michael said: “I preferred the Honda tbh but IDK I think the BMW is probably good, you know what they say: Germany always wins.”

Next we got a sneak peak at the livery, which gave us some deja vu that we might have seen it before. Asked about the design Michael Said: “After Season 5 and our now famous sponsor Toe Knocks, we have unfortunately been banned from making any more liveries by the FIA. I just downloaded one from overtake.gg, Bosco was doing it as well so it was nice for him to be first for once. As is tradition at BMW; the number 2 driver announces first.”

And finally sponsorships: With a completely bog standard car design it was easy for LEGO to design the Speed Champions set around Michael’s car at Team Race Fastest, and that is definitely what they did. When approached for comment LEGO said: “We have no idea what you are talking about.” – which is definitely what they would say.

JD & C Racing are proud (and slightly surprised) to announce their official entry into the revamped Inky league.

Following a turbulent off-season defined by terrible football, Ferrari being hopeless, and the crushing news that the league organisers have banned our driver from piloting a Ferrari, the team has regrouped with renewed focus (and mild resentment).

Taking to the grid in the Porsche 992 GT3 R, JD & C Racing are determined to prove that, while natural talent remains elusive, perseverance — and proper hydration — can go a long way.

Team Principal and lead driver commented: “When life takes away your Ferrari, you grab a Porsche… and a Jack Daniels. It’s not the car we wanted, but it’s the car we’ll probably crash slightly slower in.”

Long-time supporters Jack Daniels & Coke continue to back the project, providing essential liquid engineering throughout the pre-season, ensuring morale never dropped below 40% ABV.

Fans can expect the usual JD & C Racing trademarks: inconsistent pace, bold overtakes that defy logic, and a pit strategy powered entirely by optimism.

JD & C Racing — driven by determination, dulled by whiskey.

DISCLAIMER I did not make this livery, found it on the internet didn’t I

MISHYFISHY

We are proud to announce our new Miku Racing project in Inky Season 6, entering into the TCX class.

We’ve built this team up with numerous sponsors and heavy financial investment, unfortunately we blew a lot of that money on a media day, so we’ve really only got enough for a few sets of tyres for the first few races.

We’re also happy to announce a new driver joining the team, Mishy. We first got in contact after being impressed with their Inky exhibition races, and since then we’ve been impressed with their ability to keep the car on parts of the track.

“I’m thinking Miku, Miku (oo-ee-oo), I’m thinking Miku, Miku (oo-ee-oo)” – Miku, Head of Miku Racing

“If a car has 4 wheels you might be missing the steering wheel” – Mishy, Driver

COSMO

Turns out Audi’s fee for un-obstructing my pictures wasn’t just me driving an R8 this year, they also wanted a butt-ton of money. So say hello to Audi Sport – COSMO Project, sponsored by Core Dynamics and JCJenson (in spaaaaacee!!!!!)

If you’re going to bite into a possible title year like a kid bites into a Creme Egg, you’ll need a car that’s built tough, and when it comes to spaceships they don’t come tougher than Lakon Spaceways. No choccy sponsorship for me though. I prefer metal.

Main character energy! Honestly I just like the purple. Oh and Zorgon Peterson are cool too. Me teef!
